This is our how to draw Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer drawing guide. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer first made an appearance in a book of the same name written by Robert Lewis May. The author wanted kids to have a character showed children how to express and receive approval for his or her specialness. Let’s draw this favorite Christmas character together!
How to Draw Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Step by Step
Let’s start by drawing the cotton parts of Rudolph’s Santa hat.
Draw Rudolph’s face. Look at the example, it almost has a pear shape to it. Now draw the rest of the Santa hat.
Draw two ovals for the eyes, draw two smaller ovals inside and dots for the pupils. Draw a big circle shape below the eyes for the nose. Now draw the mouth below this.
Draw the ears now, they are like a tear drop shape on its side. Draw a smaller version of this inside of the ear. We can draw the beginning of the scarf now, it’s a rounded rectangle that goes under the face.
Let’s draw Rudolph’s body now. Start by drawing a short curved line that starts under the scarf. Draw the legs next, they are rectangle like and end in jagged lines. Draw the line that is Rudolph’s belly.
Draw the back using a curved line that tucks in to form the hind quarters. Draw the back legs next. Right now the legs look kind of short and like they have three jagged toes. This will make sense soon.
Finish the legs by adding the square like hoofs. Draw a rectangle shape that hangs down from the scarf. Now draw the tail by drawing a pointed oval that sticks up from Rudolph’s end.
Let’s add some details! Decorate the scarf using lines the way thy are shown in our example. Draw a line on the tail as shown.
It’s time to draw the antlers now. They will start right behind the tops of the ears and they look like chubby tree branches.
The last step is to color Rudolph. Don’t forget to leave the spot in the nose white as shown if you really want it to look like it glows. Click Here for more Cute Christmas Pictures.
